Product intelligence
Understand the nutrition information behind a product
Review the nutrition facts AANYA has recorded for a product, understand what each value represents, and use them alongside ingredients and other product information before you decide.
What you can review
On a product page, recorded nutrition facts appear in their own section. This is how that information is laid out.
Illustrative example — not a real product’s values
| Nutrient | Per declared serving |
|---|---|
| Energy | 120 kcal |
| Protein | 4 g |
| Total carbohydrate | 18 g |
| Dietary fiber | 3 g |
| Total sugars | 5 g |
| Total fat | 3.5 g |
| Saturated fat | 0.5 g |
How to read it
- Declared serving
- Values are recorded for the serving the source declares — in grams, millilitres, pieces, cups, tablespoons or teaspoons. AANYA does not convert them to another basis.
- Nutrients
- Up to eleven: energy (kcal or kJ), protein, total carbohydrate, dietary fiber, total sugars, added sugars, total fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol and sodium (mg).
- Complete or partial
- A record is complete only when the full declaration was recorded. Otherwise only the declared nutrients appear, with a note that missing values are unknown.
- Source status and date
- Each record says whether it is verified, pending review or unverified, when it was last checked, and when re-verification is due.
Why some products have nutrition facts and others don’t
Nutrition facts appear only where a record has been added for that product. Product cards and Compare show which of three states applies.
- Nutrition facts available
- The full nutrition declaration has been recorded.
- Partial nutrition facts
- Only some nutrients were declared or recorded. The rest are unknown — never zero.
- Nutrition facts unavailable
- AANYA has no nutrition record for this product yet. It says nothing about what the product contains.
Where you can use it
- On the product page
The full record: declared serving, each nutrient, completeness and source status.
- In Compare
Declared nutrition facts side by side, each with its own serving and source status.
- With Personal Suitability
Signed in, you can save nutrition goals — less sodium or added sugar, more protein or fibre — and see how a product’s declared values compare.
Where the information comes from
From label to product page
- A declared source
Values come from manufacturer labels and official manufacturer pages, or are entered through AANYA’s governed operator or approved import process.
- Recorded as declared
Each nutrient keeps the source’s serving and a governed unit. Nothing is recalculated, scored or ranked.
- Dated for freshness
Records carry a verification status, a verification date and a freshness window, so older records are flagged for re-checking.
Important limitations
- A nutrient that is not shown is unknown, not zero.
- Values follow each product’s declared serving, and servings differ — keep the serving in mind when comparing.
- Recipes and packaging change, and records can be out of date — check the current label.
- This is product information, not a health rating, a recommendation or medical advice.
